Jawad currently serves as Founder and Managing Partner at 10mK, whose mission is to build, develop, and invest in high-performing teams that drive transformative societal impact.
10mK invests in companies that drive both economic and societal value. Jawad developed the 10mK Methodology, which he uses to help guide companies and executive teams to successful outcomes. Through 10mK, Jawad also invests in creative projects that support underserved communities.
From 2022 to 2023, Jawad served as President at FreePower, a wireless charging infrastructure company and part of the 10mK portfolio. Jawad employed the 10mK Methodology to help drive transformation of the FreePower business model, expand the TAM from $1 billion to over $6 billion, and set them on a path to scale. With a portfolio of more than 230 patent assets for wireless charging hardware, software, and magnetics, FreePower is well on its way to achieve its mission of bringing power to every surface, so we never have to think about charging again.
Jawad served as CFO at Axon (Nasdaq: AXON) from 2017 to 2022, where he helped lead the company’s transformation to the leading provider of public safety connected technologies with a mission to protect life. Jawad was responsible for leading Axon’s finance, corporate strategy, legal, and IT functions. He also served as the executive sponsor for Axon’s consumer-facing business. Throughout his tenure, he was instrumental in helping grow Axon's market cap from $1 billion to over $13 billion and raised $600 million through two follow-on offerings, including an effective re-IPO of the company from TASR to AXON.
Prior to Axon, Jawad was CFO for Market Track (now known as Numerator), a private-equity backed SaaS marketing intelligence company that he helped guide to a successful exit to Vista Equity. He also spent 13 years in various roles at GE, most notably serving as CFO for Centricity, GE Healthcare’s electronic health record and enterprise software businesses. Jawad gained substantial international experience while at GE, working in several industries across more than 20 countries. Jawad is a graduate of GE's Corporate Audit Staff and Financial Management leadership development programs.
Jawad currently serves on the Board of Directors at FreePower, and the Board of Trustees at Phoenix Country Day School. He previously served on the Board of Directors at FARO Technologies (Nasdaq: FARO) as well as STORE Capital (NYSE: STOR) prior to their sale to GIC.
Jawad earned his MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a BA in Economics from the College of the Holy Cross. He is the author of “What They Didn’t Tell Me: How to Be a Resilient Leader and Build Teams You Can Trust”, which became an Amazon #1 best-seller and was featured in Entrepreneur Magazine.
